1-Wisdom hath builded her house,
she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
2-She hath killed her beasts;
she hath mingled her wine;
she hath also furnished her table.
3-She hath sent forth her maidens:
she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
4-Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither:
as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
5-Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6-Forsake the foolish, and live;
and go in the way of understanding.

2-To know wisdom and instruction,
To perceive the words of understanding,
3-To receive the instruction of wisdom,
Justice, judgment, and equity;
4-To give prudence to the simple,
To the young man knowledge and discretion–
5-A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
6-To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.

18-Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before a fall.
19-Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly,
Than to divide the spoil with the proud.

24-The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who begets a wise child will delight in him.
25-Let your father and your mother be glad,
And let her who bore you rejoice.

8-Do not go hastily to court;
For what will you do in the end,
When your neighbor has put you to shame?
9-Debate your case with your neighbor,
And do not disclose the secret to another;
10-Lest he who hears it expose your shame,
And your reputation be ruined.

1-The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.
2-Because of the transgression of a land, many are its princes;
But by a man of understanding and knowledge
Right will be prolonged.

2-A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth,
But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence.
3-He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

1-My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
2-So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3-Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
4-If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5-Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
And find the knowledge of God.
6-For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
7-He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
8-He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.
9-Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path.

4-Do not overwork to be rich;
Because of your own understanding, cease!
5-Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
